The DSG Stud Girdle Kit "stiffens" up the bottom end of the 6.2/6.5 block to prevent main bearing web cracks. A must for preventative care.  The 6.2/6.5 engine block has a bad history of cracking from the outer main bearing bolt holes up through the cylinders causing catastrophic engine failures.

The DSG Stud Girdle Kit avoids this common problem by replacing the outer main bearing bolts on the three middle webs with high tensile studs and nuts.  By joining these webs together the studs eliminate the spreading force put on the block while torquing the main caps. The kit contains a CNC-machined, powder coated set of girdles to tie the three middle caps together.
